Youth Ministry Discipline

According to Webster’s dictionary, the definition of “disciple” is “ a person who follows another as his teacher or leader”.  The ministry of Victory Baptist Church seeks to produce disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.  As Christians, we cannot be disciples without discipline.  In an effort to have an environment where discipleship can take place, we have seen the need to have a set of guidelines for our youth ministry in the areas of youth meetings and youth activities.  These guidelines are not meant to be a burden, but a blessing where our teens can attend church and teen activities and hear and respond to the Word of God.  Of course, this is primarily meant for our teens, but their visitors are encouraged to help in these areas also.

Youth Meetings

1.  A teen will be warned by either the youth pastor or another adult if they need to be quiet during the preaching.

2.  If a teen needs to be told a second time, then they will be asked to move to where they are sitting by an adult.

3.  If a teen needs to be told a third time, they will need to go sit with their parents in the auditorium.

4.  If a teen needs to be warned on a consistent basis, they will need to sit by an adult.

 Teen Activities

1.  There is to be no physical contact between the opposite sexes.

2.  Teens need to stay where there is an adult present.

3.  Teens need to dress appropriately for the particular activity.  I will let everyone know on Wednesdays what the activity is so that the teens will know what to wear.

4.  A lack of cooperation may result a parent being called to come pick up their teen early and a teen not being able to participate in the next teen activity.
